Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and look after the information you send us through this website.

Who we are

This website is run by Builders Newcastle, a building business serving Newcastle upon Tyne, Tynemouth and nearby areas. Builders Newcastle is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about this policy using the details on our contact page.

What we collect

  • Enquiries: when you use the enquiry form we collect your name, telephone number, email address, project location or postcode, type of building work, whether the property is residential or commercial, your project description, any photographs you attach and how you would like us to reply.
  • Reviews: if you leave a review we collect your name, area, rating, review text and, optionally, your email address. Your email address is never published.
  • Technical information: to protect the forms from spam and to understand how the website is used, we record pages viewed, the date and time, the referring website, your browser type and your IP address. We also count clicks on our phone number and email links. We do not use advertising cookies.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project (our legitimate interests, or steps you have asked us to take before entering into a contract)
  • To publish reviews you have asked us to publish (your consent, which you can withdraw)
  • To keep the website secure and free from spam, and to improve it (our legitimate interests)

Who we share it with

Enquiries are emailed to the people who handle enquiries for Builders Newcastle, including our website and lead management partner, so that your enquiry can be answered. We use a hosting company and email provider to run the website. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to deal with your project and any follow-up, and delete them when they are no longer needed. Messages identified as spam are deleted automatically after a short period. Website statistics are kept for up to about 13 months.

Cookies

The website sets a small cookie that helps the enquiry form tell real visitors from automated spam. Logged-in website administrators also receive a session cookie. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. To make a request, please contact us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
